The Fallen Empires
are Nathan Åkerlund (bass), Tobias Hörnlein (ac+el guitar, vocals), Peter
Damgaard (el guitar) and Carl Svanberg (drums).
The band was formed in late
2006 by Nathan and Tobias and, though changing members (drummers and guitarists)
a couple of times, managed to write and (demo-)record many songs and play live.
The band of four has grown together over the last couple of months and is
working hard in the rehearsal room and studio. So after one and a half years of
writing, re-forming, playing, and recording the show is up and running. If you
missed shows in the past or just haven't been here before, upcoming gigs will be
posted here and on the MySpace site, keep looking...
So much for the
technicalities. We're not going to steal your time with all this self-centred
rubbish and exaggerative praises of what we do. Listen to the music, come to the
shows, and then make up your own mind. We are a Rock'n'Roll band. And in times
of casting-shows, 'fast-food' pop and the terrible noise of the meaningless we
remain a Rock'n'Roll band. For us and for all of those, who still care about
what they're listening to. We play the music we love. We write the music we
play. Essential and real. Enjoy!!

We have started. The drums, amps, mixing console and all the cables are scattered around the room, somewhat magically connected to produce a fantastic sound. We were surprised about the quality, it has surpassed our expectations. Calle has outdone himself and almost all the drum tracks are recorded and Nate and me are working feverishly to put down the acoustic guitar and bass...So far everything is going perfectly smooth, the amounts of coffee, pizza and beer consumed are staggering, the music simply better than ever!

We’re back in the studio...
Yes, we are going at it again. Over the next two weeks or so we will be re-recording our six demo songs. The time has come to "update" the sound. The songs had been recorded last year with a different drummer and guitarist. Now that we've found our way in live shows and rehearsals to a sound that is instantly recognizable we're looking very much forward to the challenge of transferring it to a recording. I can say so much already: more blues(-ish) and less hard-rock, better recording quality and a touch of live performance-energy...
I'll keep you updated with pictures and news from the home-studio, so don't forget to check in again.

TFE on TV !!
